Paul McCartney's Setlist

Paul McCartney played his first of two shows at the Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) Center on Saturday night, performing for three genial ultra-upbeat hours in a 41 song set (counting fragments) that included 22 Beatles songs, almost all played in their entirety.

Looking fit and trim with a not-bad dye job, Macca touched on all aspects of his career, including two songs, "Highway" and "sing the changes" as his alter ego The Fireman from 2008's Electric Arguments that sounded sharper and more fully realized than the tunes he drew from his early '70s days with Wings.

The jolly, 68 year old cute Beatle played bass, guitar, piano and ukelele, paid musical tribute to Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and George Harrison, and granted one request, for "Ram On" from the 1971 album Ram credited to Paul and Linda McCartney. My full review is here.

McCartney is back in town for his second Wells Fargo show Sunday night. For anyone who's going: He hit the stage at 8:28 p.m.
