Bruce Springsteen opened his five-show run at Giants Stadium in New Jersey last night with a brand new song called "Wrecking Ball" written specifically for the occasion. Giants Stadium, like Philadelphia's Spectrum, where Springsteen is scheduled to play four shows this month, is not long for this world. So I'd expect that the Boss will be reprising "Wrecking Ball," in South Philadelphia soon, albeit with the lyric "where blood is spilled, and the arena's filled" followed by "and Flyers played the games," rather than those hated "Giants." Here's the new song, or most of it, courtesy the Star Ledger and my man Dan Rubin.
