Eilen Jewell at the World Cafe Live

Eilen Jewell, who pronounces her name the same way Tiger Wood's ex-wife does but spells it differently, is at the World Cafe Live tonight, opening for the great Dave Alvin and his band, The Guilty Women. One roots-rock guy with an all-girl band, and one roots-rock gal with an all-boy band. Jewell has a new album of Loretta Lynn covers out now called Butcher Holler. David Stampone's Inky review of Jewell's show at the Tin Angel back in April is here, and a clip of the Boston based singer doing "Sea Of Tears," the title track to her top-shelf previous album of orginal songs, is below. More on ex-Blaster Alvin here.
