And The Grammy Winners Are....

Grammy, Grammy, everybody gets a Grammy. With 109 categories, there's plenty to go around. Beyonce got six, Taylor Swift four (that's her), and the Kings of Leon got drunk, and won three Grammys besides. French band Phoenix won one for alternative music album, and Michael J. Fox got the spoken word trophy. Loudon Wainwright III won in traditional folk for his Charlie Poole tribute album and Steve Earle won in contemporary folk for his Townes Van Zandt tribute album.  Mamadou Diabate won in traditiontal world music, and Bela Fleck in contemporary world music. The Beatles won one (for long form video), and ridiculously, Neil Young won his first ever, for the packaging of his Archives box set.

Brendan O'Brien won producer of the year for doing Pearl Jam, Killswitch Engage, AC/DC, Mastodon and Bruce Srpingsteen, and the Boss added to his pile with one for "Working On A Dream." Dan Morgenstern got the best liner notes award for The Complete Louis Armstrong Decca Sessions (1935-46),  and Judas Preist won best metal performance for "Dissident Aggressor." La Quinta Estacion won in Latin pop, Los Tigros Del Norte won in norteno, and Buckwheat Zydeco won in - what else? - zydeco. The complete list is here.
