Vanguard hires first top African American exec as general counsel

Anne Robinson, ex of Citi

Nine months after it began the search to replace the retiring Heidi Stam, Vanguard Group said earlier this week it has hired Anne Robinson, most recently head of the credit card legal group at Citigroup, as its new General Counsel.

Robinson is the first African American to hold a senior job at the nation's largest mutual fund company. She "will assume leadership of Vanguard's Legal and Compliance Division" in August, Vanguard said in this statement. Robinson previously worked at American Express. She is a graduate of Hampton University and Columbia Law School.
