Ex-Phillie Dykstra's $18.5M mansion sold to creditor

POSTED: Monday, November 22, 2010, 11:26 AM

Ex-Phillie and ex-online investment guru Lenny Dykstra's Thousand Oaks, Calif., mansion, which Dykstra borrowed $18.5 million to buy from hockey great Wayne Gretzky in 2007, has been acquired in a bankuptcy foreclosure sale by creditor Jeff Smith of Index Investors, the LA Times reports here.

Smith, a developer, lent Dykstra more than $700,000 to fix Dykstra's private jet and for other needs before Dykstra declared bankruptcy. Smith bid approximately the value of his debt to buy the mansion in the ensuing foreclosure sale. Smith is fixing up the property and plans to sell it at a profit after using proceeds to pay off Dykstra's mortgage to JPMorgan Chase and other loans, LAT says.

Article is pointless, there is still a 12 million dollar lien on the property that will be satisfied. which means the actual price is about 12.8 million

Fishface "The Monk" makes some real borderline comments. We would love to meet him sometime to test just how tough he is. Takes a strapper to know one...

BTW "WE" would be your friendly, local neighborhood electricians of Local 98. We pay dues for the electrical trade, but we do more political work than anything. Oh and we lift weights everyday just in case...

In my experience, the toughest guys are the ones who threaten people online. Monk told me he'll meet you at Doc's pub at 7PM, S.P.D. And since you're a union electrician, you'll probably show up 2 hours late with 3X the necessary employees.

"We lift weights"... and go tanning and do laundry. Then go out at night and fist pump in the clubs.

It seems Dykstra left some steroids over for you guys. I'd say have a great Thanksgiving but you'd probably punch me in the mouth.

The Dude, what a wild thing he was. Watched Seasons on MLB tv last night, the 93 season again. Great stuff, those clutch homers by Nails and Eizey, and Schilling was a great post season pitcher, despite his dopey towel thing. Touch em all Joe? it still hurts.

Was it really 17 years ago? What a ride that was!
