Data center borrows $15M to grow Bucks site

Keystone NAP, a data center at the former U.S. Steel Ben Fairless Works in lower Bucks County, says it has borrowed $15 million from White Oak Global Advisors to finish acquistion of its property and finance expansion.

Keystone sales and marketing chief Shawn Carey says the center claims high reliability due to its modern configuration and its location near multiple power sources. Customers include Aria Health, which has three hospitals in the area. Aria uses Keystone NAP as a back-up center and to add Internet protocol network and bandwidth services, said Tom Nateloni, Aria director of infrastructure, in a statement.

Keystone says its clients also include a large New Jersey-based financial services company it declined to name, which had suffered "a critical outage" at an older data center and was looking for an improved network..

The center is served by Comcast Business and Sunesys, which have added facilities at the site. Xtium, which offers x86 managed cloud hosting, backup and virtual disaster recovery, has located its third facility at Keystone NAP. Secure Infrastructure & Services, which provides "mid-range IBM cloud computing solutions," has also located services at the center.

The company says it hired Doug Hughes, previously an engineer at Global Crossing and D.E. Shaw Research's systems team, and Jack Gesualdi, previously a salesman at Reading-based Distributed Systems Servies Inc.
