World M&A down $850B vs last year
  "Global deal volume in the first half was down 36 percent, according to Bloomberg data. There were 14,210 deals with an announced value of $1.53 trillion, the lowest since 2005, down from 16,489 deals valued at $2.37 trillion a year earlier." Bad news for lawyers, investment bankers, and other dealmakers on Wall Street and in the City of London.
