The sophomore running back from Norwalk, Conn., led the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) with 703 rushing yards in October.
His 137 yards on a career-high 30 carries in Saturday's 10-7 win over Illinois gave him his fifth straight game with more than 100 yards on the ground. The last time a Nittany Lion achieved that feat? Curtis Enis, with eight straight 100-yard rushing games, in 1997.
Redd's 111.78 rushing yards per game ranks 12th in the nation. That mark ranks second in the conference behind only Iowa's Marcus Coker.
Through nine games, Redd has rushed for a Big Ten-leading 1,006 yards (5.2 yards per carry) to go along with seven touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 209-pound back already has one more touchdown than Evan Royster had last season and needs just 38 yards to match Penn State's all-time leading rusher's mark from 2010.
The No. 16 Lions (8-1, 5-0 Big Ten), who have an off week before hosting Nebraska on Nov. 12, have now had seven straight seasons with a 1,000-yard rusher. — Jake Kaplan
