Penn State releases depth chart for 'Bama game; Drake "doubtful"

Penn State released its depth chart for Saturday's game against Alabama, and yet again it lists the Nittany Lions quarterback as sophomore Rob Bolden "OR" redshirt junior Matt McGloin.

Penn State released its depth chart on Monday night for Saturday's game against Alabama (3:30 at Beaver Stadium) and yet again it lists the Nittany Lions starting quarterback as sophomore Rob Bolden "OR" redshirt junior Matt McGloin. This is not a surprise, as coach Joe Paterno said after Saturday's 41-7 rout of Indiana State that he thought both quarterbacks would play against the Crimson Tide.

The team's injury report also lists redshirt sophomore wide receiver and former West Catholic star Curtis Drake as "doubtful" for Saturday's game. Drake is recovering from a second leg injury. He participated in warm-ups before the season opener against Indiana State but did not play.

Some other notes from the depth chart:

-It lists Penn State's starting kicker as redshirt junior Evan Lewis "OR" true freshman Sam Ficken. Anthony Fera, who got in trouble off the field over the summer, is third. Lewis started against the Sycamores but struggled, going 0-for-2 and also missing an extra point. Ficken played late in the game and kicked off once and hit one extra point.

-Johnnie Troutman is listed as the starting left guard, while DeOn'tae Pannell is the starting right guard. Last week, Pannell was listed as the starter on the left side while Troutman was battling with John Urschel to start on the right side.

-The depth chart lists the starting left defensive as Sean Stanley "OR" Eric Latimore. Stanley started the opener.
