National Treasure

It's safe to officially say that No. 3 Penn State is a legitimate national championship contender. There are many variables that could play out by the end of the season, but the Lions are in a great spot at No. 3. They don't have the undo pressure of being No. 1 and they stand behind two teams -- No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Alabama -- that have rough roads to hoe.

Penn State, on the other hand, has thorn-in-side Michigan on Saturday and then travel to No. 13 Ohio State on Oct. 25.
