Former Penn State receiver Derrick Williams: 'I hate Iowa'

Former Penn State wide receiver Derrick Williams (2005-08) returned to Happy Valley for the first time in about a year and a half on Saturday for the team’s game against Iowa. Williams participated in the “Sports Illustrated Heisman Tour Presented by Nissan” along with 1973 Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti, prior to the game.

“It’s a great feeling, just coming back to the old stomping grounds,” Williams said.

Williams, a 3rd round pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft, is currently a free agent. He said he has gotten some calls but is still waiting for his shot to sign with an NFL team. He has been working out in Washington D.C., running and catching the ball and as he put it, “staying ready.”

Williams reflected on Penn State’s loss to Iowa in 2008, which he called the "worst game of his life," and even went as far to say, "I hate Iowa." He also talked about the current Nittany Lions' squad, including his opinion on the two-quarterback system.

See what Williams had to say in the video posted below.
