India regains Olympic status

SOCHI -- The IOC Tuesday reinstated the National Olympic Committee of India, which had been suspended in 2012 for failing to demonstrate "good governance".
The three Indian athletes here marched in the opening ceremonies, but under an Olympic flag. Now that the suspension has been lifted – the first time that's happened during a Games – India's flag will fly during the closing ceremonies.
And on Tuesday, the Indian flag was raised at the ahletes village, rejoining those of the 87 other nations represented here.
