Bill Iezzi: Maple Shade Softball Shortcoming

I saw Maple Shade upend Burlington City, 6-3, Tuesday in a BCL Freedom Division game.

Maple Shade is undefeated (10-0) in the division and 11-2 overall and the Wildcats are talking about going for a sectional title.

Here's the rub: their defense.

Shade committed four errors against a team weakened by the loss of shortstop Lisa Priest, one of its two seniors, in the second inning. If the 'Cats don't improve their fielding soon, they aren't going to get to the South Jersey final.
