Wow, another corrupt (Democratic) philly politician. Things never change here, just the same old city politics as usual.

I have hope in Mayor Nutter though.

Well hopefully Flyersfan561 this case is so deep, and reaches so far into the dark heart of what was once Philly politics, that it permanently changes things. But the mayor and city council, and Harrisburg, have to pass meaningful campaign finance and ethics reform. Call it the Fumo Rules.

Nutter seems not to be able to take a stand for campaign finance and ethics reform like he did during the campaign. He's really backed off of his promises, and hasn't mentioned the words in while, several months, since before the financial crisis. This shows me he can only juggle one ball at a time unless people demand that he deliver legislation.

I was waiting for the "in the public interest" safe harbor defense to rear it's ugly head. Yesterday, I almost lost my lunch with Rendell's sickening testimony. Guess I shouldn't eat today either.

Admittedly my hope with Nutter is fading some. CleanupPhilly, do you think Philly politics will be changing soon?

$68,000 so Vinney could continue to have ocean views. Real appropriate. So why then wouldn't he let the surplus be returned to Citizen's Alliance. Enjoy your prison uniform!

vinnie could'nt wait to grt his hands on that peco money. why is it not bribery if you demand money be given to anon-profit and then you use that money for your own gain? this typical spoiled brat fumo,i did it but it's ok because i did it. vinnie maybe you will grow up in federal custidy.

Gee...I wonder if Blago is watching this trial...he could use the same logic Vinnie's using...it goes like this...gee the constitution gave me (as Governor) the right to appoint anyone I wanted to the seat....and the constitution didn'y say I couldn't put that Senate seat up for sale...honest I was going to take that money and put it into my newly-formed charitable non- profit and we would have shared the wealth with the little people...we would have picked up da trash and everything...

I have only one question (being an old accountant). It's up to the jury to etermine that all of those perks were legit, as Fumo has testified under oath, based on Citizen's Alliance being "his", as he testified. Did he report all of those perks (or "compensation", as he testified) as income in his tax returns? I see Fumo weaseling himself out of a corruption case just to fall into charges of tax-evasion and inurement (deriving profits from a non-profit institution). So, the FBI steps aside and hands the job over to the IRS. Happy trails, Vince! See you in 15-to-20.
