At Campbell's Field, Haddon Heights pitches in

Town raises money for new flag at home of the Camden Riversharks

Haddon Heights families pitched in to raise money for a new flag for the home of the Camden Riversharks.

Businessman and baseball fan John Rayser spearheaded the effort after attending an open tryouts at Campbell's Field in April with his sons. "I noticed the flag was looking kind of beaten-up and faded," he said.

After reaching out to Riversharks management, Rayser got on the phone and online with friends and fellow baseball families in Heights.

They raised $300 to purchase a new Stars and Stripes, which proudly waved at the May 7 game as the community's contribution was recognized on the field.

"We thank John and his neighbors for this extremely thoughtful gesture," team officials said.
