The Swiftboating of Murtha.

I'm amazed that this web site designer is surprised at the comments she received. The level of disgust with the Bush administration is palpable and a backlash was inevitable. The level of frustration is understood in light of the right wing media doing Bush's p.r. work for him and not remaining neutral. The SWIFT Boat thrashing of Kerry was never documented or proved yet the media kept hammering away at it. For a known draft dodger, DUI convict and child of privilege to set up a straw organization to hurl unfounded accusations at a documented, proven war hero is criminal. Kerry shouldn't have let his record stand on it's own he should have called these guys and Bush out - for goodness sakes Cheney never served. It's amazing and surreal that the press never called the administration on it. The press's dereliction of duty to separate the truth from dirty campaign tricks and to inform the public accurately of the truth has given way to taking sides and courting favor.

God forbid the media speak the truth because their corporate owners may have a real stake in the game and not like the truth. Editors, newsmen and broadcasters should be insulated from the fear of job loss for telling the truth. There should be a mechanism even a law that prevents undue, influence and the conflict of interest from coloring or plain ignoring the truth. The duty to the readers and viewers needs to come first. Even bloggers and web designers if they are going to publish need to fact check and provide and speak the truth. Taking money to publish fabrications is not moral, is not right, it’s not even right wing in fact I would add it’s treasonous. We all as citizens should be the "good citizen" in true Jeffersonian fashion and conduct our actions and words in a manner that is good for the country first. Self interest is tearing the very fabric of society apart both here and abroad. Those in a position of power should set the example of integrity and honor. Our democracy suffers for it and so does the world.

The owner of the website is a web designer by trade?

After viewing that website I have to say I am not impressed.
