A Nod to Fast Eddie

You're impressed when a traveling musician displays good local information.

Posted 09/21/2005 09:47:52 AM I thought he was known more as "Uncle Eddie" or something like that. He's buried in the cemetary behind my house.

But without your speed-reading, my comments would be near-empty.

I used to work for a company that shared a name with Uncle Eddie. Yes, the company and the perv were related. It's always fun explaining that to potential Philadelphia employers who recognize the name on my resume.

Eddie lived in an apartment in a brownstone next door to our house in Center City.

He was a regular fixture in the neighborhood, but there was something "hinky" about him. Not the kind of guy who, when the news broke, anybody said, "I just can't believe it, he was such a nice, quiet man."

If the walls were thinner, we'd have had nightmares for sure. Thank god we were girls.
