What you need to know about riding SEPTA over the holiday weekend

A long holiday weekend often means trips to visit family and friends. If you're planning on taking public transportation your destinations this Christmas and Hanukkah weekend, here's what you need to know.

SEPTA

- Regional Rail trains will run on regular Saturday schedule on Christmas Eve. Trains will run on a special schedule on Sunday and operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday.

- The Broad Street and Market-Frankford subway lines will operate all night from Christmas Eve into Christmas day. Then, trains will run on a Sunday schedule on Christmas and regular weekday schedule on Monday.

- Bus and trolley routes will run on a regular Saturday schedule on Christmas Eve, on a regular Sunday schedule on Christmas and on a modified holiday schedule Dec. 26 to 30.

PATCO

- Special schedules are in place Friday, Sunday and Monday. A regular Saturday schedule will run on Christmas.

NJ Transit

- Trains, including the River Line, will run on their regular weekend schedules on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, trains will operate on a weekend schedule and the River Line will run on a Sunday schedule; there will be additional morning and evening peak trains on most lines.
