SEPTA holds public forums Monday on agency's new plans

SEPTA will hold two open houses on Monday to discuss its new plans and to get feedback from riders and the general public.

SEPTA will hold two open houses on Monday to discuss its new plans and to get feedback from riders and the general public.

The sessions, the first to be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. and the second from 5 to 6:30 p.m., will be held at the agency's headquarters at 1234 Market St. in Center City.

The transit agency's fiscal year 2017 Annual Service Plan includes proposals for new services, including a limited-stop bus service along Roosevelt Boulevard that would include some elements of a Bus Rapid Transit system.

A new Route 49 bus from Brewerytown and Fairmount to Grays Ferry via University City is also being proposed.

For existing services, plans call for some extended trips on the Route 2 bus from Wayne Junction Station, a Regional Rail stop at 2129 Windrim Ave. in Nicetown, and for splitting the Route 310 bus (the Horsham Breeze line) into two smaller routes to simplify service patterns, the transit agency said.
