New schedules today on some Regional Rail lines

New schedules are in place starting Monday on some of SEPTA's Regional Rail lines.

All of the Regional Rail routes have been running on interim schedules since one-third of the fleet was sidelined for repairs in July.

The Glenside, Lansdale/Doylestown, Trenton, Manayunk/Norristown and Warminster lines have new schedules.

SEPTA said it had adjusted those schedules because of leased rail cars from other transit agencies.

The leased cars are adding to SEPTA's capacity as it works to repair the fatigue cracks in the Silverliner V trains. The shortage has caused widespread delays and crowding. Those Silverliner V cars, the agency's newest, will be phased back into service starting later this month.

The full fleet likely won't be operating again until November, though SEPTA said it expects to restore full service by October.
