Deadline has passed for refunds; Regional Rail pass credit still available

SEPTA Regional Rail riders who purchased weekly or monthly passes can get still credit, as trains are running with reduced service after one-third of the fleet was taken out of service for repairs.

That's leading to less-frequent trains, delays and packed cars on Regional Rail lines.

The deadline for obtaining a refund was Thursday. But hose who bought weekly passes for the week starting July 4 or monthly passes for July can still get credit.

To get a credit:

Customers who want to keep using their passes will get a credit, which can be be redeemed on any pass purchases made before Oct. 10. Riders can get the credit by presenting their pass at a SEPTA sales office starting July 11.

The transit agency is offering varying amounts of credit, based on the type of pass. Weekly Zone 1, Zone 2 and Cross-County passholders get $5 credit. Weekly Zone 3 and Anywhere passholders get $10. For monthly passholders, Zone 1 and Cross-County riders get $20, Zone 2 riders get $25, Zone 3 riders get $30 and Anywhere riders get $35.

If you wanted a refund:

Customers had to mail their passes to SEPTA. A check will be sent to the address the rider provides. Passes had to be postmarked by Thursday, July 7.
