Northeast Extension northbound lanes reopen after 8-hour closure
The northound lanes of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-476) in Towamencin Township reopened Tuesday afternoon, more than 8 hours after pileup involving four tractor trailers shut down the roadway.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
There pile up occurred about 5:30 a.m. and closed the northbound lanes between the Lansdale and Quakertown exits. The Turnpike Authority reported at 2:50 p.m. that crews had cleared the wreckage from the scene and reopened the northbound lanes.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the State Police.
