Boat House, fountain blue in McDonald's memory

Boathouses, fountain go blue in honor of slain police officer Patrick McDonald.

Boat House, fountain blue in McDonald's memory

If you were driving by Boathouse Row over the weekend and noticed that the lights were blue, it was no mistake: The lights are a tribute to fallen police officer Patrick McDonald, killed in the line of duty last week.

City Councilman Frank Rizzo said he asked

Fairmount Park  to change the lights in advance of McDonald's funeral on Tuesday. The fountain at Love Park , which is periodically dyed for various occasions, will also be blue in honor of McDonald and all police officers.

McDonald's funeral will be 12pm at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter & Paul,

1723 Race Street, Philadelphia
