After polls close, a new arrival for Al Schmidt
Al Schmidt's wife Erin waits until the election is over to give birth to the couple's third child.
Erin Schmidt, the wife of city commissioner Al Schmidt, is one considerate spouse. She postponed the arrival of the couple's first son, Max Rodgers Schmidt, until 6 p.m. Wednesday, the day after the election. Max weighed in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces, joining sisters Maggie, 6, and Grace, 3. Schmidt reports everyone is healthy.
