Dialysis at Sea

It's a good time to get away from the cold of winter weather, especially those huge snow drifts. But if your kidney's don't work and you require dialysis three times a week, how are you supposed to take a vacation? Where can you go? How about a cruise?

Apparently those huge hotels of the sea offer dialysis. Who knew?

A company – Dialysis at Sea Cruises – says it is the largest provider of dialysis aboard cruise ships and that the service has allowed thousands of individuals with end-stage-renal disease to experience a vacation.

So instead of fighting still icy sidewalks and roads to get to the dialysis center, a task that challenged many patients over the last several weeks, go on a cruise to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe or elsewhere.

Dialysis at Sea provides the service on ships from a range of companies.
