Philly listed one of '10 Best Cities for Shopping' in the world

Has Philly truly established itself as a big-hitter among shopping cities?

Has Philly established itself as a big-hitter among the world's shopping cities?

With King of Prussia Mall a quick 20-minute drive away (if weekend zoo traffic doesn't halt traffic on 676), and fantastic offerings along Rittenhouse Row, it appears that the city has become a worldwide shopping destination. CNBC recently compiled its list of the top ten best shopping cities in the world and while the typical trendy cities made the cut including Milan, London, Paris, New York and L.A., the highlight was seeing Philadelphia listed as a retail destination.

CNBC enlisted the help of editors at Tobe Report, a trend forecasting firm that analyzes retail patterns, to compile this list based on a number of criteria. Analysts also looked for additional factors that would allow shoppers to enjoy the "ultimate shopping experience" such as sales and local boutique offerings.

Here's what they highlighted from Philly- Boyds, Joan Shepp, Knit Wit, Arcadia Boutique, Sugarcube and Urban Outfitters. Surprisingly there was no mention of KoP.

Nevertheless, what great timing for all those who plan on attending and participating in Rittenhouse Row's annual Spring Festival this Saturday!
