Calvin Klein model Matthew Terry has his Super Bowl moment

It was one of the more memorable ads from Sunday night’s Super Bowl broadcast. It was one of the more memorable ads from Sunday night's Super Bowl broadcast.

Matthew Terry – with his smoldering face, chiseled abs and rock-solid physique, clad in nothing but a pair of skintight briefs – had viewers buzzing over the steamy 30-second Calvin Klein Underwear ad that aired during the third most-watched program in television history.

Unlike the flood of viewers who took to their Twitter accounts to call the Calvin Klein Concept ad and its star "sexy," the 21-year-old has another word to describe it:

"Shocking," he said over the phone Monday afternoon. "It was pretty epic."

In fact, the personal trainer who hails from Bethlehem, Pa., is reeling from the sudden, newfound fame accompanied by the social media frenzy over his cut body. If Google is any indication, the commercial marks a milestone in the modeling career of the small-town guy who was discovered after his mother had secretly submitted his photo to the VMAN/Ford Model search in 2011.

"It was so crazy… I was at my agent's apartment in Manhattan," Terry recounts, and as soon as the Calvin Klein ad hit screens across America, "literally, my phone would not stop going off."

The model, who splits his time living in Pennsylvania and Jersey, did not see the final cut of the commercial until it aired Sunday before an estimated 108.4 million people. "I couldn't stop smiling, my jaw dropped," he gushes. Among the flood of feedback he's received from friends and family, Terry says the most memorable text was from a friend who wrote, "You look like the Terminator, Terrinator."

As for the aspiring men who want to mimic his body, the Terrinator has some advice.

"When I found out I was shooting the job, I buckled down, didn't snack on chocolate," he says. "I watched what I ate – lots of fish, chicken and veggies – and I only drank water."

Clearly, the disciplined eating habits paid off for Terry, who has another exciting project. "I'm the new face of the Calvin Klein Dark Obsession fragrance which launches in March."

And the answer to the question readers everywhere are dying to know. "I'm single," says Terry, with a smile heard over the phone. "For now."

So what exactly does Matt look for in a partner? "A good sense of humor, loyalty, someone who's trustworthy, ambitious, works hard, and is conscious about her health and stays in shape."

He adds, "I like to date but I keep my inner circle pretty small. I really need to trust who I choose to talk to and know that they like me for me, before I would date them. I would want to know they are into me as a person and not because I am a Calvin Klein model."
