Fans outside Citizens Bank Park in Lot M at Pattison Avenue and Darien Street were breaking bottles on cars and attempting to light an SUV on fire 40 minutes after the final pitch in the Phillies first World Series win in 28 years. Police quickly arrived and started to disperse the crowd. The crowd started mixing it up with the police.  By then, the crowd had also completely overturned a green Ford Explorer.

Here, we would have celebrated together without damage to property. Philly? Speaks for itself.

don't be idiots, bunch of stupid kids. winning doesn't give you a pass to be a moron.

skanepagenfl, I assume you're from a one traffic light town? Otherwise, not too likely. Unfortunate as it is, I can't recall the last major metropolitan area to celebrate a major championship without any idiocy at all. Instead of playing on your sense of moral superiority, why not just hope the stupidity is kept to a minimum.

Skane, the reason you can celebrate in Florida without property damage is because no one pays attention to your teams. When The Lightning won the Stanley Cup, they didn't even sell out a game in the first three rounds.

Stay classy, Philly.

It's not just Philly! I live in Denver. We've had the same thing over two Stanley Cups and Two Super Bowls. Los Angeles the same...It's America. It doesn't make it right, but that's our society today. We attended games four and five (pt 1) and the fans were great.

skanepagenfl I will go ahead and assume that "here" is Tampa, or another town of the sort. A town where a true fan or pride, for that matter, are mythical. That aside how can you speak for all of the fans (and I use the term loosely) when saying that there would have been a peaceful celebration? I can believe you (and for that matter I) would celebrate in peace. However you cannot account for the beer swilling lunatics that happen to be out and about looking for trouble. For the most part people will celebrate peacefully. You cannot avoid some unfortunate incidents when you mix passion, alcohol, and the best city in the world breaking a 28 year sports curse. So if you are jealous, You should be. For tonight the Philadelphia Phillies are World Champions!
