Early parade goers at Broad and Oregon:
The weather couldn't be more ideal for a parade Friday!
A cheesesteak before 7 a.m.? It’s never too early to arrive for the Phillies parade down Broad Street or the festivities at Citizens Bank Park (The parade starts at noon and the party at the sports complex starts at 3 p.m.)
Four friends from South Jersey - Scott Searles, 22, of Marlton; Rebecca Barner, 22, Marlton (a nurse); George Morris, 22, of Washington Township (a Gloucester County College student), and Janie Bambino, 21, of Washington Township (a Drexel student) were perched on the parade bleachers at Broad Street and Oregon Avenue at 7 a.m.
Searles, Barner and Morris had taken PATCO at 3:30 a.m. to 16th and Market Streets and then walked to Pat’s Steaks for a quick breakfast. The four have tickets for the big rally at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon.
