Leino set to return tonight

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Ville Leino will return to the Flyers' lineup tonight after missing Wednesday night's win in Florida.

Leino has been suffering from a lower-body injury believed to be a groin strain, causing him to rest it for two days.

Leino skated with his teammates at the morning skate at the RBC Center on Friday and looked like he was back to normal. He even took a little extra time to work on his shot after some of his teammates left the ice, which is a good sign.

"I feel pretty good," Leino said. "I have to talk to the coach, but if he has room for me to play, I will."

Leino has 13 goals and 26 assists in 56 games for the Flyers this season. Wednesday was the first time he had missed a game because of injury since he arrived in Philadelphia last February.

He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Jody Shelley, Nik Zherdev and Oskars Bartulis will be the Flyers' scratches tonight against Carolina on Rod Brind'Amour night. Shelley played in Leino's spot on Wednesday.
