Tippler’s, place your bets. Beer Madness, Philly Beer Week’s spoof on March Madness, made its triumphant return this week.

Tippler's, place your bets. Beer Madness, Philly Beer Week's spoof on March Madness, made its triumphant return this week.

For the uninitiated, Beer Madness is a 32-bracket beer tournament that seeks to crown the best beer in the land. Created by a "Selection Committee" consisting of Philly Beer Week board members and participants, Beer Madness is broken up into four regions: American-style Belgians, German-style Belgians, IPAs, and stouts.

Participants will vote on their favorite beers to move them through the brackets, with the championship currently scheduled for April 4. Last year, the competition came down to two craft beer classics: Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA and Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. 90 minute ultimately took home the W.

Incidentally, both of those beers are also included in this year's voting, which began on Wednesday. At the time of publication, 90 minute led Bell's by just three votes.

On April 4, the ultimate winner will be decided at a beer event, with the victor being based on which keg of the final two beers kicks first. If nothing else, it's a delicious way to vote.
