Instacart expands delivery into Montco

Instacart, the upstart food-and-alcohol delivery service, has again doubled its Philadelphia-area service area by adding Montgomery County.

Instacart, the upstart food-and-alcohol delivery service that promises service from multiple stores within an hour, has again doubled its Philadelphia-area service area by adding Montgomery County.

New neighborhoods and towns that are part of the expansion include: Wayne, King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, Norristown, Blue Bell, Audubon, Trappe, Phoenixville, Lansdale, North Wale, Ambler, Devon, Chester County, Paoli, Bridgeport, Gwynedd, Montgomeryville and Malvern. (See areas here.)

In Montgomery County, Instacart delivers from: Whole Foods Market, BJ's Wholesale Club, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, Acme Markets and Super Fresh.

Instacart is offering one month of free delivery to new Montgomery County customers who place orders today.

In its Northeast Zone consisting of Northeast Philadelphia and the Northeast suburbs, Instacart delivers from: Whole Foods Market, BJ's Wholesale Club, Fine Wine & Good Spirits and Acme Markets.

In Philadelphia proper, Instacart delivers from: Whole Foods Market, BJ's Wholesale Club, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, Acme Markets, Super Fresh and Green Aisle Grocery.

Groceries are marked up. The minimum order is $10. Delivery costs $7.99, but drops to $3.99 for orders over $35. New customers get free delivery on their first order of $35 or more. There's also a $99-a-year service that waives the delivery fee on orders of $35 or more.
