Grey Lodge Pub announces 20th anniversary party

Back in 1996, Mike "Scoats" Scotese and the folks at Grey Lodge Pub took over Mugsy's Tavern in Northeast Philadelphia to open up what has since become one of the most beloved beer bars in the city.

Now, with two decades of business under their belt, it's time for Grey Lodge — and its patrons — to celebrate.

Grey Lodge will hold a 20th anniversary party on Saturday, August 13 beginning at 4 p.m. The whole shindig kicks off with a special "20 Years Ago" panel discussion, which includes appearances from local beer scene heroes such as Nancy Rigberg and Gene Muller.

From there, the real party starts at 5 p.m., complete with grilled food specials, live music, and beer (of course). Featured drafts will fittingly include Weyerbacher's 20th Anniversary Ale, Manayunk's 20th Anniversary Ale, and River Horse's 20th Anniversary Ale, among others.

Cask brews, meanwhile, will include Evil Genius' Trick or Treat, Summer Catch from Cape May Brewing, and Philadelphia Brewing Company's Joe Coffee Porter.
