With the help of his wife, Elise, and daughters Pearl and Sasha, Ari Miller makes artisanal bacon for a living.

His Lansdowne company, 1732 Meats, is the bacon sponsor of the Philadelphia Bacon and Beer Festival this Sunday at  the Hotel Monaco at Fifth and Chestnut Streets (the main event is sold out, but you can still get $25 tickets to the after party here at hotel's Stratus Lounge).

Watch the video to find out what inspired Ari to dive headfirst into curing pork bellies and see how many times his daughters recommend eating bacon each day.

All the vendors from the festival will be invited up, so it's a chance to hang with the brewers and chefs. Proceeds from the tickets will also benefit Manna, the festival's nonprofit beneficiary for this year.

A $25 ticket includes

- bacon-ified cupcakes from Sweet Box

- bacon bites from Ribs Within (NJ-based pitmaster Doug Keiles makes his own bacon and regularly takes top spots in national BBQ competitions)

- two drink tickets for any of six special bacon and beer cocktails by Stratus bartenders (The first three, the bacon cocktails, are below. The other three will be beer cocktails.)


After 8 p.m., the bar will stay open and drinks will be available for a discounted prices of $5 each.
