Finally! What's the best number? I'm thinking 8 or 9 for the hammer and the hound.

An orange, black and white Flyers jersey with the Flyers logo. Amazing. I've never seen anything like it.

Now, all they gotta do is find a landfill and dump all the black jerseys in, and forget that they ever existed.

I agree, I hate the black home jerseys. I also hate that the announcers always act like this is how it always was. The half season they did it at home was cool in 1993. And I still get confused at times. It's going to take them 10 years and 5 jerseys to get back to where they used to be. I don't care. 2 months ago, I got an old orange jersey for $17.

Ed Van Impe - 2; Tom Bladon - 3; Barry Ashbee - 4; Larry Goodenough - 5; Moose Dupont - 6; Bill Barber - 7; Don Saleski - 11. Simon Nolet - 17. Bill Flett - 21. I can go the distance....Why does that entire roster still stick in my mind when I can;t even remember what airline I'm flying tomorrow?

Yahooooooooo !!! Been waiting two years for the ORANGE. Long overdue. I have to agree with most other folks. Make the ORANGE the every day and make the Black the Alternate. Tired of watching black and white hockey games. Color color color color. Orange Orange Orange. The intimidation factor is gone. Flyers goal scored by number 19, RICK MaCLEISH !!

The Black Jersey is so dated...What is this...1999. Go back to the traditional uniforms for all the Philly teams. Sixers should go retro on a permanent basis. Red and White with Blue trim. Get rid of that cheesy "Flying Basketball" under the word "Phila". Bring back the solid red uniforms with the block print "SIXERS" on the chest. No more black uniforms in Philly. Eagles should get rid of the black stripe on the white pants too. Solid Silver pants when we wear the Green Jersey. We are Green and Silver not Green and Black. What are we the Jets? Please. I blame Reid for that too. Black is slimming.

About Paul Vigna
Paul Vigna still has the seat he wrestled out of the concrete at Connie Mack Stadium parked in the finished basement, a 1980 Phillies championship mirror hanging above it. Now, why he’s kept an autograph of former Flyer Bruce Gamble on a sheet of Hockey Hall of Fame paper is another story. A native of Philly who grew up in Lansdale, he’s an assistant sports editor at the Daily News in charge of special projects who has written two columns related to sports and consumers: View From the Seats and Savvy Consumer.

ABOUT THIS BLOG:
Athletic contests were, for a long time, simply fun and games. Nowadays they’re just a small part of a sports entertainment industry that puts billions of dollars into play and a number of issues into motion. Moneyball indeed. You might be closer to the action than ever before, but that privilege comes at a price - and often it’s beyond what you can afford.

With that as the backdrop we’ll use this blog to dig out stories and swap advice about how the fan experience is changing and what it’s costing you now and in the future. Some of it will educate, some will let you vent. And in a sports panel format, it should allow for a consensus of opinion that can carry some weight.
