Drexel Beats ODU

RICHMOND, Va. -- Drexel advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association championship game with today's 68-51 semifinal win over Old Dominion at the Richmond Coliseum.

The Dragons (27-5)  have now won 19 in a row and played a stellar defensive game against a team that scored 88 points in Saturday's win over Delawrwe.

Frantz Massenat led the Dragons with 20 points while Damion Lee added 17.

Drexel will meet VCU in Monday's championship.

The Dragons shot 10 for 30 from the field but led, 27-17 at halftime.

One reason for the lead was that ODU, which beat Delaware, 88-74 on Saturday, was 7 for 26 from the field and 2 for 9 from beyond the arc.

For the second straight game, Chris Fouch led the Dragons at the half. Fouch, who had 12 points at halftime of Saturday’s 57-49 win over UNCW, had nine of his 16 points in the first half.
