'Last Man Standing' premiere scores hit for ABC

The reviews may have been less than promising for Tim Allen’s new sitcom, “Last Man Standing,” but the “Home Improvement” star is still a draw at ABC. Tuesday night’s premiere, which consisted of two back-to-back episodes, averaged nearly 13 million viewers, according to the preliminary Nielsens, with viewership peaking at 13.2 million in the second half-hour. And among the 18- to 49-year-olds advertisers care about most, “Last Man Standing” ran a close second to CBS’ “NCIS.” So, yeah, Allen’s new character might be a bit of a dinosaur, but so far he’s doing a lot better than the giant lizards on Fox’s “Terra Nova.”
