FX scores with 'American Horror Story'

Nothing horrifying about the premiere ratings for FX's "American Horror Story," which was the No. 1 show on basic cable Wednesday night among the 18- to 49-year-olds advertisers most care about. That put it ahead of the season premiere of Comedy Central's "South Park" and baseball. ("American Horror Story" was also first among women 18-49.) Overall, the blood-spattered drama from the creators of "Glee" -- yeah, go figure -- attracted 3.2 million viewers at 10 p.m. and added 1.4 million in a rerun the same evening.
