'Glee's' back, and so is 'Glee Project'

If you watched last week’s season premiere of “Glee” (8 p.m. Tuesdays, Fox 29), you’ve already seen a little of the fruits of Oxygen’s “The Glee Project,” as runner-up Lindsay Pearce guest-starred as a potential future rival for Rachel (Lea Michele). But where was Damian McGinty (one of the show’s two grand-prize winners and the only one in the finals I was actually eager to see make it to the Fox series)? The lad from Derry will pop up as, yes, an Irish exchange student in the Nov. 1 episode, reports TV Guide.com. (His winning guarantees him at least six more appearances.) Based on the splashy debut Lindsay got, I'm guessing he'll be more than a fringe player. And while we’re waiting for Damian, Oxygen’s opened auditions for next summer’s “Project” — to be produced early in 2012 — and claims 87,000 people have already signed up to learn more. Details are here if you'd like to be 87,001.
