In it, I interview Jewel Woods, the author of a new book called “Don’t Blame It on Rio: The Real Deal Behind Why Men Go to Brazil for Sex” (Grand Central Publishing, 2008.) Woods, who co-wrote the book along with Karen Hunter, goes deep into the sociological reasons why so many men flock to destinations such as Rio and the Dominican Republic. And it’s not just about cheap sex with beautiful prostitutes. To a large extent, Woods says, it’s about middle class man’s being able to live a baller lifestyle - something that’s not  always possible on their home turf.
