Vito Maglio Sr., who vanished in December, was found dead in the Schuylkill River on Friday, police sources told the Daily News.

The body of Vito Maglio Sr., a 69-year-old Bustleton man who vanished in December, was found in the Schuylkill River by police on Friday, law enforcement sources have told the Daily News.

Maglio had been shot at least twice in the head, the sources said.

His body was found in the river at Kelly Drive near Ferry Road in East Falls shortly before 4 p.m.

In February, the Daily News wrote about Maglio's puzzling disappearance. He was last seen by his family on Dec. 14.

A few days later, the charred remains of his GMC Yukon was found in East Germantown. Crime-scene investigators later discovered a bullet casing in the vehicle, along with a pool of blood under the driver's seat.
