Two killed in separate North Phila. shootings

Police were investigating two deadly shootings in North Philadelphia Monday afternoon.

Two men were killed and another was injured in separate shootings Monday afternoon, police said.

In the first, police responded to a shooting on Huntingdon Street near 11th in North Philadelphia around 1:30 p.m. and found two men shot, according to spokeswoman Officer Jillian Russell. Police said a 35-year-old man who was shot several times in the abdomen was taken to Temple University Hospital by medics, where he was pronounced dead at 2:07 p.m. The second victim, a 26-year-old man, was shot once in the left shoulder. He was also taken to Temple and listed in stable condition.

Less than an hour later, at 2:11 p.m., police said, an 18-year-old man was found shot several times in the chest outside on Silver Street near 26th in North Philadelphia. He was taken to Temple by medics and pronounced dead at 2:33 p.m.

Homicide detectives were just beginning to investigate both shootings around 3:30 p.m., an officer in the Homicide Unit said. No arrests had been made in either shooting, and additional information about the incidents was not immediately available.
