The dead body of a middle-aged man was found in a vacant lot in North Philadelphia Wednesday evening, and police are investigating his death as suspicious.

Police were drawn to the scene, at Croskey and Dauphin streets, between 22nd and 23rd, at 5:40 p.m. after someone called 9-1-1 to report that a man was unconscious there. Medics pronounced the man dead at 5:53 p.m., police said.

The man remains unidentified but appears to be in his 60s, according to police. No cause of death has been determined, but police said there are signs of trauma on his body.

In July, the dismembered body of Diamond Woods, a transgender woman who police say was slain by a man who picked her up to pay her for sex, was found scattered across a weeded lot about a block away, at York Street and Sedgley Avenue.
