Police ID weekend slaying victim

The weekend's only homicide victim has been identified.

Shareef Young, 31, of Ford Road near Cranston Road in the River Park section of West Philadelphia, was shot once in the head early Saturday, police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said.

Young was found in the stairwell of an apartment complex at Foulkrod Street near Frankford Avenue in Frankford, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 5 a.m., in what police are calling an "execution style" slaying.

Drug paraphernalia was found near his body.

No information on a motive or suspect is available, Little said.
