Police responding to a shooting scene at 68th Street and Dicks Avenue found a 17-year-old shot in the torso and took him to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, said police spokeswoman Officer Jillian Russell. Investigators combing the scene then found Munson, of Montrose Street near 15th, collapsed with a gunshot wound to his chest on Carroll Street near Buist, Russell said. Medics declared him dead at the scene.

Police reported no suspects or motive.
