Man shot in front of pregnant fiancée, children

A 32-year-old man was shot and critically wounded at his pregnant fiancée's house in Germantown while she and her three young children looked on, police said.

The victim was in the living room of his 26-year-old fiancée's house on Keyser Street near Logan around 5:30 p.m. when the woman's ex-boyfriend came bounding through the door, police said.

The man shot the victim once in his back and fled the scene. Officers from the 39th District took the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of 9:45 p.m., said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The suspect and the victim both have children with the woman — who is eight months pregnant, police said. The suspect's daughter, and two children the victim and the woman have together, were in the living room when the shots were fired, police said.

Cops found a shell casing in the living room and on the porch. Two witnesses were taken to speak with officials in the Northwest Detective Division.
