Man shot during carjacking in North Philadelphia

Cops are on the hunt for two men who they say shot a man and took off in his SUV in North Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

The 29-year-old victim was driving on Sedgley Avenue near Allegheny around 4 p.m. when two men approached his Ford Expedition, shot him in the back, pushed him out of the truck and drove away in it, according to investigators.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Thursday night.

Police said the carjackers were last seen in the victim's 2002 blue Ford Expedition driving northbound on 9th Street. They are described as Hispanic men around 30 years old, one of whom wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police reported no arrests in the violent carjacking as of 7 p.m. Thursday.
