Man found dead of gunshot wound in West Philadelphia house

An unidentified man was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head inside a West Philadelphia house Thursday afternoon.

Police said the man's body was found in a house on 53rd Street just above Market around 3:30 p.m. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 3:36 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the victim's identity were unknown around 4:30 p.m. Police reported no arrests in connection with the homicide.
