A shooting in the Girard Park section of South Philadelphia left a 20-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition Friday night, police said.

Shots were fired at around 7:35 p.m. on Croskey Street near McKean and the victim was wounded once in his abdomen. He was taken by police to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia is not Seattle. alot more neighborhoods that can change block by block. don't just look at a map or google. learn the city if you are going to report on crime

@Nat Turner. With your speech impediment and your spelling, you wouldn't be allowed nor couldn't affored to live in Girard Estates. We don't speak ebonics here. Get out and stay out, dirtbag. And get it straight....Girard College was where blacks weren't welcome by the Will of Stephen Girard. It's just that the low class people like you can't afford to live in a good neighborhood.

Are they trying to rename Point Breeze Girard Estates now??? Time for a march against this attack on the neighborhood.

nat turner, the racist terms of Stephen Girard's will were voided 13 years after Brown vs. Board of Education, and African-American students began attending the school on 1968.

If you're going to hatemonger and race-bait, at least get your facts straight.

Croskey at McKean is Point Breeze. I've been in Portland, Or for 30 years and I'm positive; knew that when I lived by the gas works.
